TO SPEAK AT NATIONAL COALITION OF 100 BLACK WOMEN EVENT
Dr. Halima Taha, author of Collecting African American Art: Works on Canvas and Paper and principal of Halima Ink, will speak during a panel discussion during the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW) third annual art auction gala “Legends of African American Art: Today & Tomorrow" to benefit its HIV/AIDS initiatives. The panel discussion will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held the main performance hall of the theater. Dr. Taha recently spoke at the conference -- Collecting African American Art: Aesthetics, Methods, and Marketplace -- at theDavid Driscoll Centerin Maryland ,where she was hailed as the primary contributor to the growth and development of African American art collection. Dr. Samella Lewis and Eric Key will be moderators of the discussion and actor CCH Pounder, co-chair of the event, will make the opening statement. Other panelists of the discussion include: Walter O. Evans, Dianne Whitfield-Lock, Karen Morris, Alitash Kebede,Camille Billops, and Sande Webster.
